LETS LOOK AT THESE IN DETAIL
METHODS TECHNIQUES TO THE CRAFT OF ACTING:
Using many methods students will learn the essence of the craft surrounding the art of acting. Through vocal, physical, intellectual, and observational exercises students will gain self-awareness and confidence. Improvisation, Scene Analysis, Character Development, Theatre Terminology, and Performance are all part of this stimulating course. “Being real in imaginary circumstances” is the basis of Lakshyaa workshop. Students will be assigned scenes and learn how to break it down and develop a strong history of their character. There are many approaches, methods, techniques to the craft of acting. The concept of an acting method came out of the studies of Konstantin Stanislavski who was the first to codify the common characteristics of the great actors of his time. Armed with what he had gleaned from watching great actors work he began a lifelong experiment of training young actors in those same common characteristics, it was a method of training and not a method of acting.
This workshops function on many levels and are open to anyone who wants to explore and develop their personal creative power in the art of acting, whether they are experienced professionals or enthusiastic beginners. Specially developed training exercises giving the supportive framework for the actor to find the dramatic or comic play. By guaranteeing working in small groups we are able to give the right attention to each individual and assess carefully their needs for developing their work.
Auditions are the key to an acting career. First, you have to get the job. This workshop will focus on audition strategies and on the most common audition situations actors will face, including prepared monologues, cold readings, commercials and auditions on tape. Determining an actor’s type and most marketable qualities will also be discussed.s
Students of Lakshyaa Theatre are taught with the most modern methods, techniques and tools.
Mastery of the actor’s “Tools of the Trade”, to give you a competitive edge!
Successful actors must be in complete control of their voice, their body and mind. Learn to modify your posture and hold yourself in a position that is suitable for your chosen role. Learn how to control the timbre, the intensity and the persuasiveness of your voice. Discover how to pull emotions from deep inside, and reveal them on the outside for maximum effect. Move your audience. Master these “Tools of the Trade”, and you travel the road to stardom. Become the top student at your theatre workshop!
Acting “naturally” is NOT something that just happens. There are distinct methods and techniques that you must refine to achieve credibility as an actor. A large part of this workshop is devoted to this important area.
Master the Audition Process – the Who, What, When, Where and the Why! Read and apply the principles outlined in this workshop and you will feel so confident walking into auditions, that other actors will simply cringe when they see you. They know you will get the part, because you positively ooze and radiate the “right image”. Developing this persona is a complex process that is revealed in detail throughout this workshop. Specifically, you will learn the components of an audition, communication, concentration and relaxation. Entrances, exits, warm ups, and the all important “stage talk”. (Knowing how to act, who does what, why they are doing it, what is expected of you as an audition applicant, and when to show your stuff is critically important. Actors that do NOT know what they are doing or why, have very little chance of pulling quality roles. This type of stuff is taught in our acting workshop. Learning your lines for stage and film acting some actors can experience problems learning their lines – remembering difficult passages of dialogue, while executing difficult moves on stage. We show you the easy way to learn your lines, giving you raw confidence and complete credibility in front of your audience and other actors. Gaining an “extra edge” through performance flexibility Discover why some actors get parts in varied roles, and why others are “type cast” Developing a successful career in this industry requires acting flexibility.
